Newly released 2022 ETE Metrics and HIV Surveillance data
2022 HIV surveillance data and ETE Metrics from the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute and New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are now available on the ETE Dashboard.
In 2022, 2,318 people were newly diagnosed with HIV in New York State, of which 81% were linked to care within 30 days and 58% achieved viral suppression within 3 months of diagnosis. Of 104,124 New Yorkers living with diagnosed HIV in 2022, 87% had evidence of care and 79% were virally suppressed.
In New York City, 1,621 people were newly diagnosed with HIV in 2022. 81% of NYC residents newly diagnosed with HIV were linked to care within 30 days and 53% achieved viral suppression within 3 months of diagnosis. Of 82,900 NYC residents living with diagnosed HIV in 2022, 92% are in care, and 84% are virally suppressed.
